💙 Grandparents Day Lunch Celebration! 💙

We are excited to welcome grandparents of students in grades K–4 to join us for a special lunch on Friday, October 23!

If your child's grandparents plan to purchase lunch from the school cafeteria, please RSVP to your child's teacher by Thursday, October 15, so we can plan accordingly.

We look forward to celebrating this special day and making wonderful memories with our grandparents! 💙

Extended Book Fair Hours on Thursday

Red Ribbon week is approaching soon. FJHS will celebrate Oct. 26-30. We wanted you to have a heads up on the dress up days.

Firefighters are coming tomorrow to teach our preK - 4th grade students about fire safety.

Accelerated Reader is a reading comprehension program used by Covington County Schools. Students choose books that are the best fit according to data to increase their vocabulary, comprehension, and thinking. (Students can also of course choose a book off of their level also.) Teachers set goals to help motivate students to read on their level and with accuracy. At the end of each semester, students who have met both nine weeks' goals, are rewarded with some sort of trip. Often we go to Camp Victory in May but our first semester trip varies year to year.

Students are rewarded by nine weeks also. So if your student did not make it this time, encourage them to make it the second nine weeks.

( they need to be able to talk about it... the theme is STEM) I also attached the october calendar for 4h. Notice they have an open archery 🏹 day for all 4h students on the 12th and a cooking night on the 13th. Must pre register by calling the 4h office.
