Fleeta Jr. High School

We had a great turn out for our first basketball game of the season. Our boys fell a little short with the final score 36-30. It was a close game which is always exciting. We are proud of our basketball team and the cheerleaders. Go Falcons!

Thank you to our academic coaches and sports coaches at FJHS: Mrs. Griffin, Mr. Davis, & Coach Carnley

Fleeta hosted the last volleyball game of the season. The first match ended in a tie breaker. The students thoroughly enjoyed cheering on our volleyball players. Getting out of class for a 1:00 game and being able to hit the concession stand helped the mood too. Great job, Lady Falcons! We are proud of you!

Our fair will be changeless this year. I will use any change for "Share the Fair," to help students who may not be able to shop at the Book Fair otherwise.

How does this work? If your child, spends $19.62, instead of giving back 0.38 cents, I will add it to the "Share the Fair" fund. (Unless they have 0.25 cent items.) If your child spends $19.04, I will try to help them find an item to get them closer to their next dollar and put the remainder in "Share the Fair."

Sixth grade students used a learning strategy call Liquid Hydra on Monday. They were given pictures related to a story they had not read yet. The timer was set for five minutes for groups to discuss observations, their thinking, and write down any questions. We began reading the story and by Tuesday, faces began to light up as they realized why I had given them pictures of New Jersey, Sierra Leone, vitiligo, and others that related to our story. It is such an impactful, inspiring story that helps develop empathy for others.
